the oldest and most historic studios in Hollywood. It claims
itself to be the only major studio actually located within the
city of Hollywood. Paramount Studios also is located next to
the famous Hollywood Cemetery.

Paramount offers an in-depth walking tour of its historic
facilities in Hollywood. A great tour to take when visiting the LA
area. Paramount studios, bordering the Hollywood Cemetery, is one
of the original and most historic studios in Los Angeles county.
At one time RKO Studios and Desilu Studios (Desi Arnaz and Lucile
Ball's studio) existed separate from Paramount, but now are
encompassed on the Paramount Studio Lot.
There are many aspects of
Hollywood's history that are covered on this tour including a
unique look at various historic buildings and landscapes.
These landscapes include stops at one of the original "
Forrest Gump" benches relocated from its on-location shot in
Georgia and a famous courtyard featured in many movies including
" Clueless". |
|
Most tours also stop at two of the production theaters on
the lot. The first theater is the historic Gower Theater
used by production staff to screen movies and shows still in the
progress of filming or post-production. The second theater
is the elegant Paramount Theater located near the Bronson Gate
entrance. This theater has been used to premier and screen
such big movies as "Saving Private Ryan".
One of the most
photographed studio entrances is the Bronson Gate Entrance at
Paramount Studios (pictured on the ticket above and to the left).
This gate dates back to the early days of Paramount and has been
featured in many movies. At Paramount, if you look through
the gate, you can see the famous "Hollywood" sign on the
hills of Hollywood.
